<p>We present a vertical and horizontal multiple plankton sampler (VHMPS) for meso- and microzooplankton. This sampler is an upgraded version of the vertical multiple opening and closing plankton sampler (VMPS) and is designed for oblique and vertical tows. The VHMPS can perform depth monitoring and close plankton nets at specific depths. The standard system of the VHMPS includes a mouth opening area of 0.25 m<sup>2</sup>, six nets, and a maximum operating depth of 3,000&#xa0;m. Moreover, the VHMPS can filter large volumes of water by employing oblique tows, making it effective for collecting plankton in environments with low zooplankton abundance.</p>
