Robert Hare’s creation of the Psychopathy Checklist and its revisions were instrumental in advancing the field of psychopathy. One influential facet of his diverse program of research was elucidating the underlying factor structure of the PCL and the PCL-R. The current article reviews Robert Hare’s most influential contributions to the field, which furthered understanding of the latent structure of the PCL-R and the nomological network of psychopathic personality.
