Review: evolution of the corrosion behavior of high-entropy alloy coatings by laser cladding
摘要
In recent years, the marine engineering equipment such as deepwater jackets, offshore platforms, and nuclear plant components in extreme environments often suffer from serious corrosion damage. The high-entropy alloy (HEA) coatings have received extensive attention due to the excellent corrosion resistance in harsh environments. This paper reviews the influence of element composition and process parameters on the corrosion resistance of HEA coatings. The results show that the appropriate addition of metal elements such as Al, Ti, Mo, Nb and rare-earth elements such as Ce, Y, La can significantly reduce the corrosion susceptibility of the coating. However, the introduction of ceramic particles may lead to diversification of phase composition and uneven distribution of elements, thus increasing the corrosion susceptibility of the coating. The corrosion mechanisms of HEA coatings are examined, and the microstructure on the corrosion susceptibility of HEA coatings are analyzed. Finally, the potential future research directions and ideas for HEA coatings are explored.
