Graphene quantum dots-incorporated Ni-MOF nanohybrid: a highly efficient photocatalyst for Cr(VI) detoxification
摘要
In this study, a highly efficient novel nickel metal–organic framework (Ni-MOF) nanohybrid incorporating graphene quantum dots (GQDs) was synthesized via a simple wet-chemical method using pre-synthesized GQDs. Structural and morphological characteristics were investigated through PXRD, FTIR, Raman spectroscopy, UV–Visible absorption and emission spectroscopy, and TEM analysis. Spectroscopic results confirmed the enhanced structural stability of the GQDs/Ni-MOF nanohybrid, while TEM imaging revealed the uniform dispersion of GQDs within the MOF matrix. The nanohybrid enabled the successful and excellent photocatalytic reduction of Cr(VI) to Cr(III), achieving over 90% efficiency under visible light. Furthermore, the GQDs/Ni-MOF nanohybrid showed outstanding reusability and stability across multiple cycles, indicating strong potential as an effective photocatalyst for industrial wastewater treatment.
