摘要

Graphene and its compounds are the materials of this century for revolutionizing this world. The derivatized graphene oxide is the most important, and functionalization of graphene oxide is crucial for enhancing its functionality, versatility, and performance across a wide array of scientific and industrial applications. Therefore, attempts were made to write a review article on the recent advances in one-step functionalization of graphene oxide during electrochemical graphite exfoliation. The review focuses on the recent approaches to functionalizing graphene oxide in the process of electrochemical exfoliation of graphite. Both covalent and non-covalent methods of functionalization with organic and inorganic compounds are discussed. The comparison of the different functionalization methods is also discussed. The mechanisms of graphene oxide functionalization, which occur in conjunction with electrochemical exfoliation of graphite, are proposed. The main applications of functionalized graphene oxide are also outlined, as well as future directions for the development of this research area.
