The study included 529 parents whose children were attending six separate primary schools in the city center of Istanbul, Turkiye. Construct and criterion-related validity analyses were conducted to examine the validity of the form. Within the scope of construct validity, confirmatory factor analysis was initially run and a structure consisting of six sub-dimensions and 28 items was obtained. In the criterion-related validity analysis, it was determined that there were significant associations between all sub-dimensions and the total score of MNBS-PR and the Parental Acceptance-Rejection Questionnaire scores. Regarding the reliability analysis, the Cronbach’s alpha coefficient for the entire form was determined as 0.78 and the McDonald’s omega coefficient was determined as 0.79. 摘要

The purpose of this study was to adapt the Parents Form of the Multidimensional Neglectful Behavior Scale (MNBS-PR) for parents with 5–9 year old children into Turkish as well as to examine its validity and reliability. Subsequently, discriminant validity analysis revealed that the heterotrait-monotrait ratio of correlations ranged between 0.01 and 0.83. Therefore, the study findings indicated that the scale comprises a valid and reliable instrument that can assess parents’ neglect towards their children aged 5–9 years with a multidimensional approach in a Turkish sample.
