摘要

The rapid advancement of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) has called into question how we fundamentally think about creativity, raising important and unanswered questions as to what creativity means in the era of GenAI. While GenAI can pose challenges, for instance, creative atrophy, idea homogenization, misinformation and ethical concerns, it also has the potential to augment and accelerate creative thinking and processes across different levels and industry types. Recognizing the collaborative nature of human–GenAI creativity, contributors to this special issue offer important insights into the symbiotic, dynamic, emergent, adaptive, and context-specific relationship between humans and GenAI. Based on the key contributions of the articles in the special issue, we situate their theoretical contributions in terms of conceptualizing the relationship between humans and GenAI. Implications and promising directions for future research on GenAI creativity are put forward.
