摘要

The unprecedented explosion of data generated, captured, and leveraged across nearly every aspect of modern life and business has fundamentally reshaped the cybersecurity and privacy landscape. While organizations increasingly rely on data-driven strategies to create value, these same practices amplify security and privacy risks. In this editorial, we introduce an integrative framework that positions human behavior at the core of cybersecurity and privacy challenges arising from data explosion. The framework illustrates how the scale, velocity, and variety of data amplify behavioral vulnerabilities while simultaneously creating new opportunities for behavioral interventions, training, and policy design. We then situate the contributions of the articles in this special issue within the framework, demonstrating how each study advances behavioral cybersecurity and privacy research. Collectively, these works highlight the critical role of human behavior in securing data-rich ecosystems and outline promising directions for future research at the intersection of cybersecurity, privacy, and behavioral science.
