Adaptation of the decent work for inclusive and sustainable future construction scale in Türkiye
摘要
The world of work needs a concept of decent work that promotes a future characterized by inclusiveness, respect for human rights, and sustainability for everyone. This study aims to adapt the Decent Work for Inclusive and Sustainable Future Construction Scale (DW-ISFCS) into Turkish, a scale that addresses this need. A sample of 354 Turkish university students completed the adapted scale, the Future Decent Work Scale, the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale–sSort Form, and the Satisfaction with Life Scale. Confirmatory factor analysis, measurement invariance analysis, item response analysis, reliability assessments, and criterion-related validity analyses were conducted. The confirmatory factor analysis results confirmed the six-item unidimensional structure of the scale. Invariance analysis demonstrated that the scale provided configural, metric, and scalar invariance across gender groups. Item response analysis indicated that the items had sufficient discriminatory power. The reliability of the DW-ISFCS was confirmed through multiple analyses. Finally, the scale showed positive correlations with future decent work perceptions and career adaptability, but no significant relationship with life satisfaction. Overall, the findings confirm that the scale is a valid and reliable instrument within Turkish culture. All key conclusions and limitations are examined in relation to existing literature.
