Will I ever fit in? The trajectories of person–environment fit of vocational students to their school program
摘要
Many Croatian students make career decisions by the age of 14 years, often enrolling in vocational programs that limit their future career prospects. This study examines person–environment (P–E) fit trajectories and career adaptability’s role among 288 vocational students over 3 years. Using Euclidean distance and profile correlation as P–E fit measures, results indicate low initial congruence, with profile correlation showing a slight decline over time. Career adaptability predicts higher initial fit but also a greater decline in fit over time. These findings highlight the need for early, continuous career guidance to help students choose suitable educational paths.
