<p>Perfect vortex field as a new type of optical phenomenon, because of its unique orbital angular momentum and high spatial resolution and the high-profile, especially in areas such as communication, sensing, imaging and data storage show great potential applications.In recent years, with the progress of nanotechnology and metamaterial, the generation and modulation of perfect vortex beams using metasurfaces in the terahertz frequency band has become a research hotspot.This article will systematically review mechanism, perfect vortex beam discussed based on metal metasurface, all-dielectric metasurface and reconfigurable intelligent metasurface, and the medium ultra new progress of terahertz communication, and reveals its application prospect in the modern communication technology. At the same time, the current research challenges and future directions will also be discussed.</p>
