<p>In this work, a wideband high-performance E-plane magic-T waveguide junction for split-block fabrication is presented. The proposed magic-T design implements an E-plane power divider/combiner which can be built as a split-block by direct machining, and with the perpendicular waveguide coming out of the junction fabricated by wire electro-discharge machining. A prototype was fabricated for extended <i>Q</i>-band frequencies of 30 to 50 GHz. The fabricated component demonstrated state-of-the-art performance with return loss higher than 20 dB and isolation higher than 22 dB across a 47.9% fractional bandwidth. This magic-T can potentially replace low-isolation T/Y-junctions in waveguide networks and components based on split-block fabrication.</p>
