摘要

This study presents an innovative wideband MIMO antenna designed specifically for the emerging 5G wireless technologies. The antenna structure features four compact radiating elements symmetrically arranged along the edges of a flexible RO5880 dielectric substrate with a permittivity of 2.3. With compact dimensions of 23 × 17 × 0.254 mm3, it is ideal for modern communication systems. Its radiating surface is configured with a triple-triangle patch, incorporating strategically placed trapezoidal slots in the ground plane to improve overall efficiency. A broad impedance bandwidth of 15.21 GHz is achieved, with isolation levels exceeding 23.21 dB across the frequency range of 26.36–41.57 GHz. Key MIMO performance metrics, such as the Envelope Correlation Coefficient (ECC), Diversity Gain (DG), Total Active Reflection Coefficient (TARC), and Channel Capacity Loss (CCL), were thoroughly analyzed to ensure compliance with practical system requirements. Additionally, a modified ground plane structure was implemented to optimize isolation between the radiating elements. A prototype with four MIMO elements was fabricated and tested, and the experimental results demonstrated strong agreement with the simulations, validating the proposed design. With its optimized footprint, efficient radiation properties, and wide frequency range, this millimeter-wave MIMO antenna is a promising candidate for future 5G wireless networks.
