Material selection and development of button controlled automatic gear changer for two wheelers
摘要
The button controlled automatic gear changer for two wheelers represents an innovative advancement in motorcycle gear-shifting technology, aimed at enhancing rider comfort, safety, and control. Traditional motorcycles require manual operation of the clutch and gear lever, which can be difficult for beginners or in congested traffic. The proposed system eliminates the need for manual gear shifting by incorporating an electromagnetic mechanism that is controlled through a simple button press. This system uses an electromagnetic actuator that is triggered by the rider pressing a button mounted on the handlebar. When activated, the electromagnetic system engages and disengages the gears without the need for manual clutch control, ensuring smooth and precise gear changes. This automatic shifting mechanism reduces rider fatigue, improves safety by reducing distractions, and provides a more comfortable and efficient riding experience, especially in urban environments where frequent gear shifts are needed. This system consists of electrical and mechanical components. Materials for all the components are selected based on their operational and environmental requirements such as tensile strength, reliability, electrical conductivity, corrosion and wear resistance.
