Emerging smart glazing technologies for sustainable and adaptive urban environments
摘要
Smart window technologies are integral to the advancement of smart urban environments by facilitating the dynamic regulation of light transmission, privacy, and energy efficiency. Photochromic and dichroic dyes facilitate reversible optical switching in response to light exposure, whereas voltage-controlled cholesteric liquid crystals offer bistable states of transparency and scattering for adaptive glazing solutions. These sophisticated systems autonomously adjust to prevailing environmental conditions, thereby providing enhanced visual comfort, diminished energy consumption, and heightened occupant privacy in the buildings of the future.
