Synthesis of homogeneous nickel-cobalt hydroxide nanosheets for supercapacitor application
摘要
Modern high-performance supercapacitors with carefully designed nanostructures require labour-intensive, lengthy preparation processes. While transition metal hydroxides have demonstrated good capacity performances at low mass loading of the active material, achieving high capacity performance with considerable mass loading remains challenging. In this study, we present a nickel-cobalt hydroxide composite with a three-dimensional hierarchical porous architecture, created using an in-situ hydrothermal approach. This method activates the active sites and promotes structural rearrangement. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern show formation of pure NiCo-OH phase. SEM analysis revealed the formation of nanosheets. The nickel-cobalt composite display remarkable specific capacitance 584.28 F g⁻¹ at current density 1 mA/cm². These results suggest that nickel-cobalt hydroxide can serve as a model electrode for electrochemical energy storage.
