摘要

We aim to identify the challenges faced by flood-affected residents and explore how they cope with flooding using traditional methods. We employed a mixed-methods approach, emphasizing qualitative data from focus group discussions and key informant interviews. Additionally, we collected quantitative data through a structured questionnaire given to 67 purposively selected flood-affected households. The results revealed that the community struggles with housing shortages, income disruptions, food insecurity, health risks, and transportation problems. The findings also showed that impoverished flood-affected individuals use locally led coping strategies, such as repairing and rebuilding homes and kitchens, reducing meal frequency and portion sizes, cutting non-food expenses, changing cooking techniques and sleeping arrangements, altering transportation methods, and relying on relief aid.
