摘要

This article analyzes clustering patterns of cultural and creative industries in Mexico City’s Metropolitan Area, from 2010 to 2020. The M function, a point pattern analysis method, serves as the basis for estimating two synthetical indicators: the expected maximum of clustering intensity and the expected distance radius on which this maximum is more likely to occur. These indicators allow capturing the multiscalar process of industrial inter and intratype clustering. in territories with highly variable densities (like Mexico City) without losing accuracy. Results reveal the persistence of a main core intraurban area where factors such as infrastructure availability, urban density and possible firm collaborations may contribute to the area’s continuing attractiveness for creative industries’ firms. These results also point out place-based policies as an adequate strategy for incentivizing the consolidation of creative hubs.
