<p>This study employs the PRISMA framework, attemps to synthesize the concept of place attachment, exploring how individuals develop emotional and cognitive connections to specific locations. It highlights the dynamic interaction between emotional responses, social relationships, and the construction of place identity, noting how factors such as duration of residence can strengthen these attachments. The review encompasses a range of methodological approaches—from quantitative to mixed methods—to capture the multifaceted nature of place attachment. While significant strides have been made, issues related to sample diversity and representativeness continue to pose challenges to the robustness of findings. Anticipating future directions, the paper calls for enhanced methodological rigor and a more nuanced exploration of the emotional and cognitive dimensions of place attachment. Through a structured and transparent review process, this research offers critical insights and forward-looking recommendations to guide ongoing scholarship in this evolving field.</p>
