摘要

Drawing on the conservation of resource (COR) theory, this research investigates how transformational leadership (TL) influences work engagement (WE) in the pharmaceutical industry. This is a vital concern for employees’ positive attitude towards organizational performance; therefore, we aimed to explore the association between TL and WE. The parallel mediation effect of job autonomy (JA) and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) are also examined. We further explore the positive impact of perceived organizational support (POS) in our theoretical model. We used a questionnaire to collect data from 367 employees, including managers and administrative staff, through a convenience sampling technique. We used Smart PLS to test our hypothesis. The outcomes reveal a positive association between TL and WE. Further, OCB mediate the relationship between TL and WE, but not with JA. Additionally, POS moderated the association between TL and WE through JA and OCB. This study contributes novel theoretical and practical insights to the literature by examining positive leadership styles in the pharmaceutical industry, thereby advancing the understanding of the TL-WE relationship. Furthermore, this study is pioneering in exploring the parallel mediations of JA and OCB in the presence of POS.
