<p>This study investigates the impact of corporate green transition on the New Quality Productive Forces (NQPF) of manufacturing firms from a spatial perspective. Utilizing panel data from 537&#xa0;A-share listed manufacturing enterprises between 2011 and 2023, and employing a suite of spatial econometric models, the analysis yields the following key findings: (1) Corporate green transition significantly fosters the development of NQPF and generates a positive spatial spillover effect. This spillover exhibits a non-linear distance-decay pattern: the effect initially intensifies within a 20–30&#xa0;km radius, then gradually weakens, and finally shifts from a positive externality to a competitive negative effect beyond a critical threshold of 60&#xa0;km. (2) Mechanism analysis reveals two primary transmission channels: green transition enhances corporate NQPF by driving increased environmental investment and stimulating green technological innovation. (3) Spatial threshold regression identifies a significant non-linear moderating effect of firm age. Once a firm surpasses the critical threshold of approximately 9.97 years since establishment, the enabling effect of green transition on NQPF is significantly amplified. (4) Heterogeneity tests reveal distinct patterns across regions and firm characteristics. Regionally, the enabling effect follows a gradient of “Central &gt; North-East &gt; East &gt; West”, with spatial spillovers displaying significant regional differentiation. At the firm level, while the driving effect of green transition is more pronounced in large, high-profit, and technology-intensive enterprises, the spatial spillover benefits are pervasive across all enterprise types, underscoring that the capacity to absorb green innovation dividends varies by resource endowment. These findings suggest that enterprises should prioritize green transition as a core strategy for cultivating NQPF, achieving a synergy between efficiency and environmental sustainability through targeted green investment and regional collaboration.</p>
