摘要

The production of historical films traditionally relies on extensive physical set construction, generating considerable greenhouse gas emissions. To address this, this study proposes a metaverse-based low-carbon construction model using game engines and Metahuman technologies to replace physical sets. Taking Wuyi Square 1950–2020 as a case study, carbon emissions were rigorously quantified using a complementary suite of tools to address distinct system boundaries: Donghe Software for embodied material carbon, the Green Production Guide for production logistics, and the Carbonfoot calculator for operational energy. Results indicate that the metaverse model reduces total emissions by approximately 96.8% while maintaining visual quality and audience reception. Furthermore, the novel integration of photovoltaic power and earth-tube ventilation into the computing facility reduces operational emissions by 42.8%. These findings highlight the potential of metaverse technologies for sustainable historical scene reconstruction and provide a scalable pathway toward low-carbon transformation in film production.
