<p>Inventory automation is crucial in supply chain sustainability amplification by facilitating improved operations, waste diminishment, improved energy utilisation, and product obsolescence. In addition, it encourages socially responsive business. However, Supply chain risk is a significant barrier to adopting sustainable supply chain practices (SSC). Therefore, the present study seeks to synthesise literature by responding to advanced automation techniques to mitigate supply chain risks and improve supply chain sustainability. We utilised PRISMA methodologies with the TCM framework to identify research gaps through proposition analysis and outline a research agenda for the future. The authors subsequently synthesised evidence and analysis from leading research contributions, prominent authors, and emerging thematic areas. Analysis is provided that serves as a basis to investigate and empirically test constructs related to theories in a backdrop of technology focus, with potential for long-term survival and growth for firms.</p>
