<p>Rangeland is the primary source of feed for livestock in the current study area. The current rangeland is under the pressure of over-grazing and the impact of climate change, with limited research consideration. The study was conducted to investigate the range condition to fill the information gap of the study area. Vegetation and soil conditions were studied from quadrats established along two transects from the watering point. The herbaceous species composition and soil condition scores were analyzed using the analysis of variance (ANOVA). A total of 33 herbaceous species, which included 23 grass species, 1 sedge, 3 legumes, and 6 forbs, and a total of 22 woody species were identified, of which 40.9% (9), 36.36% (8), and 22.73% (5) were highly, intermediately, and less desirable herbaceous species, respectively. The Shannon index of diversity and species richness for the light grazing type shows a significant difference from moderate and heavy grazing types. Shannon’s diversity index value (2.328 ± <i>0.16</i>) and species richness (12.67 ± <i>1.15</i>) of the light grazing type were significantly (<i>p</i> ≤ 0.05) higher than the other two grazing types<i>.</i> The light grazing type has significantly (<i>p</i> ≤ 0.05) the highest condition score of the other two grazing types. It had significantly (<i>p</i> ≤ 0.05) higher soil compaction and grass species composition values than the other two grazing types. It also had significant dry matter biomass of total grass, highly, and intermediately desirable grass (75.45 ± 3.06, 35.42 ± 3.66, and 24.88 ± 0.64) than the other two grazing types, respectively. The study indicated that the vast majority of the studied rangeland has been classified under the poor range condition class.</p>
