<p>Field experiment was conducted to study the persistence behaviour of two effective insecticides (cyantraniliprole &amp; dimethoate) against <i>B. brassicae</i> on cabbage at single dose and double the recommended dosage. The residues of cyantraniliprole and dimethoate were estimated by High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and Gas chromatography (GC), respectively. The half-life of cyantraniliprole at single and double dose was found to be 1.83 and 1.53&#xa0;days, respectively. Similarly, the half-life of dimethoate was found to be 2.47 and 2.66&#xa0;days, at single and double dose, respectively. The residues at terminal harvest for both the insecticides at both the application levels were found to be below the Maximum Residue Limit (MRL) value i.e., 2 parts per million (ppm) for both cyantraniliprole and dimethoate specified by the regulatory authority i.e., The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). The risk quotient (RQ) was found to be &lt; 1 even after 2&#xa0;h of spray for both insecticides at both the doses indicating no possible risk to consumers.</p>
