<p>Using Chinese prefecture-level city panel data from 2003 to 2022, this paper examines the impact of sci-tech finance policies on urban entrepreneurial activity. Results show that these policies significantly enhance entrepreneurial activity. Mechanism tests show that these policies positively influence entrepreneurial activity through three channels: innovation ability, entrepreneurial support and entrepreneurial environment. Heterogeneity analysis shows that the entrepreneurial driving effects of these policies vary due to differences in policy environment, regional features and industries.</p>
