摘要

Today's early childhood classrooms are increasingly diverse in culture, language, and ability, yet curricula often fail to reflect the children they serve, and movement opportunities have declined as academic pressures rise. This practical article offers classroom teachers a framework for integrating physical movement into culturally responsive teaching (CRT). Drawing on Gay's (2023) five components of CRT and research on movement-based learning, the article provides five strategy tables along with concrete workarounds for commonly reported barriers to implementation (time, teacher confidence, classroom management, cultural knowledge, and administrative support). Rather than treating movement as an add-on, the approach positions it as a pedagogical vehicle that simultaneously honors children's cultural identities and supports executive functioning, self-regulation, social-emotional development, and a sense of belonging.
