<p>Virtual reality (VR) is transforming medical education by offering immersive training environments. While its adoption is growing, a clear understanding of what drives medical students to use VR, beyond simple utility, is needed. This study investigates the factors affecting medical students’ willingness to adopt VR for learning, integrating established technology acceptance concepts with experiential elements like enjoyment, immersion, and a sense of ‘flow.’ Through a survey of medical students, our findings reveal that students’ perceptions of VR’s usefulness and ease of use are crucial. More importantly, their enjoyment of VR, feeling immersed in the virtual environment, and experiencing a state of deep engagement (flow) significantly enhance their positive attitudes and intentions to use VR for future learning. This research also highlights how a positive attitude strengthens the impact of VR’s perceived benefits. These results offer valuable insights for medical educators aiming to effectively integrate VR into training programs, emphasizing the importance of creating engaging and immersive learning experiences.</p>
