<p>Kukoamine B is a naturally occurring spermine alkaloid and possesses a variety of pharmacological significance, especially for the treatment of patients with sepsis, and as an antidiabetic agent. We synthesized kukoamine B dihydrobromide in 29.3% overall yield over eight steps. The synthetic scheme avoids harsh reaction conditions, improves the yield of each step, needs minimal chromatographic purification, and uses readily available and cheaper reagents.</p>
