<p>A new sesquiterpenoid, (<i>E</i>)-1-methyl-4-(6-methylhepta-3,5-dien-2-yl)benzene (<b>1</b>), along with seven known compounds (<b>2–8</b>), were isolated from the rhizomes of <i>Curcuma longa</i> (Zingiberaceae). The structure of the new sesquiterpenoid was elucidated by chemical and physical evidence.</p>

A new sesquiterpenoid, (E)-1-methyl-4-(6-methylhepta-3,5-dien-2-yl)benzene (1), along with seven known compounds (2–8), were isolated from the rhizomes of Curcuma longa (Zingiberaceae). The structure of the new sesquiterpenoid was elucidated by chemical and physical evidence.
