<p>A new ketone, volubilisone B (<b>1</b>), along with nine known compounds, including 4-hydroxy-4-methylpentan-2-one (diacetone alcohol) (<b>2</b>), 1-triacontanol (<b>3</b>), 4,7-dimethoxy-5-(2-propenyl)benzo[<i>d</i>][1,3]dioxole (apiole) (<b>4</b>), 4,7-dimethoxy-5-(1-propenyl)benzo[<i>d</i>][1,3]dioxole (isoapiole) (<b>5</b>), methyl caffeate (<b>6</b>), syringaldehyde (<b>7</b>), 3′,4′,5′-trimethoxycinnamyl alcohol (<b>8</b>), apigenin (<b>9</b>), and kaempferol (<b>10</b>), were isolated from the seed shells of <i>Plukenetia volubilis</i> L. (Euphorbiaceae). The structure of the new pentanone derivative (<b>1</b>) was elucidated by chemical and physical evidence.</p>
