<p>A new pyridine, 4-(1′-hydroxy-2′ -methylpropyl)-2-methylpyridine (<b>1</b>) was isolated from the roots of <i>Elaeagnus grandifolia</i> Hayata. The structure of the new pyridine was elucidated by chemical and physical evidence.</p>

A new pyridine, 4-(1′-hydroxy-2′ -methylpropyl)-2-methylpyridine (1) was isolated from the roots of Elaeagnus grandifolia Hayata. The structure of the new pyridine was elucidated by chemical and physical evidence.
