<p>A new lignan, cinnamophilin B (<b>1</b>) as well as <i>β</i>-sitostenone, <i>β</i>-sitosterol, <i>p</i>-hydroxybenzaldehyde, erythro-austobailignan, cinnamophilin, <i>p</i>-hydroxybenzoic acid, vanillic acid, (+)-syringaresinol, cinnaretamine, and <i>p</i>-anisaldehyde, were isolated from the stems of <i>Machilus philippinensis</i> Merr. (Lauraceae). The structure of the new lignan was elucidated by chemical and physical evidence.</p>
