Mathematical Modeling of Control Parameters of an Electrolytic Bath
摘要
The article discusses methods for calculating the main control parameters of the operation of an electrolyzer (cryolite ratio, current efficiency, current efficiency losses) whose values reflect the stability of the process of industrial electrolysis of aluminum. Timely response to changes in these control parameters contributes to increasing the efficiency of aluminum production. A modified Nernst–Planck equation is proposed, which allows calculating the concentrations of the main ions, arising during the electrolysis process, by which the cryolite ratio is determined. In addition, the formulas for determining the current efficiency loss parameter are modified. We provide a visual graphical illustration of the numerical experiments conducted for MHD-stable and MHD-unstable operation modes.
