<p></p><p></p><p>The presented article concerns recent applications of 1,1,1-trifluoro- and 3,3,3-trifluoro-α,β-unsaturated ketones as powerful substrates for obtaining versatile heterocycles <i>via</i> pseudocyclic reactions. These starting materials are easy to obtain by aldol condensation of 1,1,1-trifluoroacetone with aldehydes1 or stepwise procedure using 2-bromo-3,3,3-trifluoropropene as substrate.<sup>1c</sup> These building blocks were extensively used in synthesis of diverse oxygen-, sulfur-, and nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds.23</p><p></p>
