<p>Over the years, the Internet of Things (IoT) has evolved to encompass not only the connectivity of devices but also the integration with social networks, giving rise to the concept of Social IoT. Social IoT applications can bridge the gap between the physical and digital worlds, enabling enhanced communication, collaboration, and engagement among individuals, communities, and organizations. This study explores some of the most notable applications of Social IoT and highlights their impact on multiple domains of daily life. Social IoT applications come in various forms, enabling users to monitor and make informed decisions for more effective management. This article will classify SIoT applications based on a statistical and technical overview. This research encompasses recent, reputable, and valid academic literature published between 2019 and 2025. This paper suggested a holistic taxonomy of SIoT applications and their usage. In addition, the article concentrated on four main research questions: Social IoT application evaluation factors, evaluation environment, domains, open issues, and challenges. The statistical analysis of strengths and weaknesses highlights existing challenges and open problems, upon which a potential solution for SIoT is proposed.</p>
