Rough GBW2TR decision making model for a general supplier selection problem: a case for biofuel energy
摘要
Supplier selection is a significant problem in supply chain management due to concurrent decision on key performance indicators on multi-dimension data. Recently, more studies investigated the supplier section problem with respect to variety of criteria within the contexts of applied cases. Integrated approaches composed of traditional multi-attribute decision making (MADM) methods are not helpful anymore, while new aspects of problem are clarified requiring novel approaches. This paper concerns with developing a new method encompass all indices effective on supplier selection. The proposed algorithm first group (G) indices to criteria and sub-criteria; then, to include uncertainty of data, rough comparisons and weighing are fulfilled with respect to the best (B) performance and the worst (W) one of criteria to obtain weight (W). Further, transformation (T) to crisp value and ranking (R) of suppliers are delivered. The new method is implemented for a biofuel energy supplier selection problem as a case study. The outputs show the effectiveness of the proposed method in practice. Managerial implications as decision supports are discussed.
