Meglumine Mediated Novel One-Pot Synthesis of Substituted Xanthene Derivatives: A Green and Sustainable Approach
摘要
In this report, the synthesis of various xanthene analogues has been achieved using a one-pot multi-component approach employing meglumine as a low-cost, eco-friendly catalyst under aqueous conditions. The reaction is carried out under mild conditions, with dimedone and aromatic aldehydes rapidly condensing and forming the desired xanthene derivatives in high yields within a short reaction time. Green chemistry metrics such as E-Factor (0.70), Eco-Scale score (93.5), Process Mass Intensity (PMI) (1.09) and Atom Economy (95.53%) have also been comprehensively estimated and confirmed the operational and environmental sustainability of the reported synthetic pathway.
