摘要

While there is consensus in the literature regarding the significant role of the therapist and the therapeutic alliance in the efficacy of group therapy for male youth with sexual behavior problems (MYSBP), there remains a notable lack of research on the unique role of co-therapy within MYSBP groups. This article presents the group facilitation intervention model for MYSBP as implemented in Israel, where groups are co-led by a male and a female therapist. Drawing on insights from the therapists’ supervision sessions, the article explores two central themes in co-therapy: first, the co-facilitators as representations of parental figures; and second, co-therapy as a reflection of gender roles. These themes are illustrated through examples from six therapy groups conducted between 2021 and 2023. The importance and efficacy of co-therapy for intervention in the themes presented are discussed in this article. The article ends with recommendations for the preservation of co-therapists’ well-being.
