<p>The article examines the key challenges in the planning and implementation of missions for UAV groups, primarily their swarms, and the main approaches to formulating and resolving the emerging problems based on scientific publications of recent years. Definitions for a number of terms used in this field are proposed. Aspects of drone mission planning are considered, using the proposed system of swarm characteristics.</p>
