<p>The impact of war on economic activity in Ukraine was studied using satellite data on nighttime light. Traditional economic indicators, such as gross regional product (GRP), are not always available in conflict areas, making it difficult to assess the real state of the economy. The use of satellite data provides objective and timely information on the level of economic activity, particularly in regions most affected by military operations. The study analyzes the correlation between economic indicators and nighttime light intensity, and extrapolates GRP for 2022–2023. The results confirm the effectiveness of using satellite data to monitor the decline in economic activity, especially in combat zones and occupied territories.</p>
