Method of Using Water Flooding Well Pattern to Release the Plugged Oil Layer

In order to determine the effective ways to release the sealed oil layer, and to achieve comprehensive coverage and enhance oil production of reservoir using the existing well pattern, the BB1 block is chose to research. The mining methods contained change streamline, variable well spacing and well pattern reorganization were explored and evaluated. According the current status of blocked well pattern development, combined with the distribution characteristics of remaining oil after EOR, we explore ways such as changing flow lines, well spacing, and well pattern reorganization, and creatively propose three models for release of sealed reserves in block BB1. This method of releasing sealed reserves is still the first case in china and abroad. A complete design method description is provided and the method is described in detail to permit readers to replicate all results. Through implementation, the average oil yield increase daily is 2.3 t/d of 8 oil wells, among which, mode 1 has the best effect that using “2” secondary infill well pattern to release, daily oil increase can reach to 2.9 t/d. The novelty lies in the perfect design of the development way for co-production of water-polymer flooding well and provide technical support for the effective release of sealed reserves and the comprehensive utilization of well patterns in the future, and has a supporting role for the comprehensive utilization technology of well patterns and the remaining oil exploitation of Daqing Oilfield and China’s continental oilfields.
