<p>This essay draws on the feminist ethics of care and justice to interrogate how the financialization of India’s hospital sector legitimizes infrastructures of harm. We first contextualize the financialization of healthcare worldwide and its particular patterns in India. Second, employing the feminist ethics of care and justice, we critically examine and debunk three myths—efficiency, inept state, and ‘underdeveloped institutions need more financing’—that are routinely leveraged to justify hospital financialization. We contend that financialization creates structural injustice through economic maldistribution, misframing accountability, and institutional misrecognition. In doing so, it creates a facade of access, quality, and equity while furthering infrastructures of harm. We conclude with considerations on urgent measures to curb financial extractivism and call for systematic research into financialization in the hospital sector.</p>
