Enhancement of the wettability of rigid gas permeable contact lenses by low-pressure plasma
摘要
Most studies addressing methods for improving the properties of contact lenses discuss the factors affecting the process of adhesion of contaminants and their growth rate. The present article discusses the use of low-pressure plasma treatment as a suitable method for removing thin organic films, achieving optimal cleanliness, and improving surface properties. Results on the effect of treatment duration on the wetting angle of the lens surface, which is an important parameter for ensuring comfort and safety during use, are presented. The study was conducted on a plasma surface treatment unit designed for medical facilities, i.e., a Medical Plasma Cleaner (MPC), manufactured by GN tech (OOO GN tech, Moscow, Russia).
