A medical fiber optic tilt angle sensor

The physical, technical, and functional characteristics of signal transformation in the optical system of high-precision fiber-optic tilt angle sensors for a diagnostic system for maxillofacial pathologies are determined. In comparison with known approaches to measuring tilt angle, the fiber-optic sensor proposed here provides measurement of tilt angle in the range ± 20°; the use of a plastic case in place of a metal case reduces the overall dimensions by half.
