<p>Reparative osteogenesis was studied in rats with metabolic syndrome simulated by a high-fat and high-carbohydrate diet for 12 weeks. In rats with and without metabolic syndrome, a hole with a diameter of 3 mm was drilled in the right molar region of the lower jaw. There were no differences in lower jaw structure in rats with metabolic syndrome in comparison with intact animals. The results of the bone defect regeneration confirm delayed reparative osteogenesis, manifested as a decrease in the relative area of newly formed bone tissue, the relative area of trabeculae, the thickness of trabeculae, number of osteocytes, osteoblasts, and osteoclasts, and an increase in the relative area of fibrous connective tissue on days 7, 14, 21, and 28 after surgery on the lower jaw in rats with metabolic syndrome.</p>

Reparative osteogenesis was studied in rats with metabolic syndrome simulated by a high-fat and high-carbohydrate diet for 12 weeks.
