Research on the influencing factors and configuration path of environmental technological progress bias in China’s mariculture industry

This paper explores how to drive the environmental technological progress bias of mariculture by using the data of China’s coastal areas from 2008 to 2021. The panel regression model and dynamic qualitative comparative analysis (QCA) method are applied to empirical research. The regression results of influencing factors show that environmental regulation, technological innovation, fisherman’s income, promotion facilities, and opening up have a significant impact on the environmental technological progress bias. The results of configuration path show that there are three configuration paths to drive the environmental technological progress bias, namely, economy-driven path, technology–promotion-driven path, and economy–technology–promotion-driven path. The temporal changes of the three configurations are stable, and the explanatory power is gradually enhanced. The study could explore the multi-factor mechanism behind the environmental technological progress bias and provide guidance for driving the environmental technological progress bias of mariculture industry.
