Rauchfreiheit für pneumologische Patient*innen
摘要
Smoking, both in the form of traditional cigarettes and e‑cigarettes, is one of the largest preventable risk factors for the development and exacerbation of lung diseases. Many pneumological patients exhibit a strong dependence and require more intensive support in their efforts to quit smoking. Despite the availability of evidence-based treatment approaches, these are still not sufficiently utilized in Germany. The aim of this article is to provide practical insights into the factors that promote or hinder smoking withdrawal. It discusses both key factors for successful cessation as well as practical experiences from working with patients. This article examines the current challenges on the path to smoke-free living and highlights the need for more comprehensive education and support.
