<p>This study explores the use of environmentally-friendly bioagents, <i>Trichoderma album</i> and <i>Purpureocillium lilacinum</i>, for managing <i>Meloidogyne incognita</i> (root-knot nematode, RKN) in eggplant and promoting plant growth in fumigated and unfumigated soils. The effectiveness of single and recurrent bioagent applications was evaluated, along with the biochemical responses of eggplants infected with RKN and treated with these bioagents. The results showed that fumigation led to a&#xa0;significant reduction in root weight, but bioagent treatments improved fresh shoot weight, root length, and plant height, with some exceptions. Recurrent applications of <i>T.&#xa0;album</i> and <i>M.&#xa0;incognita</i> (ITMT treatment) and <i>P.&#xa0;lilacinum</i> with <i>M.&#xa0;incognita</i> (IPM treatment) did not improve all growth parameters. Additionally, the presence of bioagents reduced the number of root galls, egg masses, and second-stage juveniles (J2s) compared to RKN-infected plants alone. Biochemical analysis revealed that fumigated soil enhanced phenolic and flavonoid levels, especially with bioagent inoculation. Infection by <i>M.&#xa0;incognita</i> lowered non-enzymatic antioxidants, but this decrease was reversed after bioagent treatment. Antioxidative enzyme activities were highest in RKN-infected plants. The study concludes that combining <i>T.&#xa0;album</i> and <i>P.&#xa0;lilacinum</i> offers an effective strategy for preemptive control of <i>M.&#xa0;incognita</i>. It suggests that early and repeated applications of these bioagents can improve plant growth, activate plant defenses, and help prevent reinfestation after soil fumigation, with <i>T.&#xa0;album</i> recommended for initial treatment followed by <i>P.&#xa0;lilacinum</i>.</p>
