This study provides an updated overview of PLRV’s current state of knowledge, with a&#xa0;focus on recent advancements in worldwide distribution, detection, characterization, and control strategies. The manuscript aims to present best practices for preventing or limiting the spread of the virus. Numerous rapid and accurate immunoenzymatic and molecular detection techniques exist for identifying PLRV and understanding the pathology and mechanisms of the disease that it causes will be crucial for developing effective control strategies. Overall, this manuscript presents a&#xa0;comprehensive review of PLRV, providing valuable insights for researchers, growers, and policymakers alike.</p>
